Flying South Brand Development
Christchurch Airport recently approached us to help them develop a new in-terminal attraction called Flying South.
Located in the domestic terminal, the venture is based around a stunning short film by the same name, which follows three generations of a kiwi family during their adventures around the South Island. It also incorporates an event space and design store.
After reading the Flying South script, it was clear the iconic braided rivers of Canterbury were central to the film. Which is where we drew our inspiration from, along with the Southern Alps, to develop a unique identity with a very strong and own-able sense of place. These natural references also guided our material and colour choices for the supporting brand elements in the fit-out of the design store and event space.
The short film runs every 30 minutes – ideal for filling in idle time while you’re at the airport. See you there!
